SEMINAR ANNOUNCEMENT by PHYSICS DEPARTMENT
26 April 2024 Friday 14:30 Location: ASG14
Title: Dynamical black holes: gravitational collapse, shadow and horizons.
Guest Researcher and Speaker: Prof. Dr. Vitalii Vertogradov (Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia)
Invited by: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Övgün (Eastern Mediterranean University, Physics Department, North Cyprus)
Abstract: The process of gravitational collapse of a star may lead, under some physically-relevant condition, to naked singularity formation. Naked singularity forms when the time of its formation is less than the time of apparent horizon formation and there exists a family of non-spacelike future-directed geodesics which terminate in the central singularity in the past. In this talk, the different models of gravitational collapse, the end-state of which is naked singularity, will be considered. We will also discuss the problems in calculating shadow in dynamical spacetimes and analytical method which is available nowdays. The location of horizons are key point in dynamical spacetime. The event horizon is defined globally and in dynamical spacetime one can define it only quasi-locally. We will also cover this topic within the talk.,
